SO GREAT TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS - A SWIM, A PLAY, A CANOE, A CONVERSATION WITH THE SHEEP, ITS ALSO BEEN SO LOVELY TO SEE OUR KIDS GET GRUBBY, BREATHE THE FRESH AIR AND WONDER AT THE CATERPILLARS, I ENJOYED THE QUALITY "ME TIME" UNDER YOUR FABULOUS SOLAR SHOWER TOO! - What a time it has been out on this wonderfu island. How exciting to have the "bah" of the sheep wake you up! ( in a good way). Sitting in front of our very own personal fire- the blaze rising high - singing along with the guitar and indulging in smores was great,. It was fabulous to be able to relax and simply take in the sounds and smell of nature. We will be back! C and J
- We had a great time. It is a beautiful island, well maintained and clean. Fishing was great.
We did this mostly for our son D. to expose him to nature and to adventure. He experienced lots of adventure! Now he is not afraid of worms and caterpillars!!.The tower (eco tour) climb was amazing, the kayaking (eco tour) was an experience of a lifetime.......anyone can have a cottage or an island, but our experience was great because of your caring attentiveness, and your message of concern for the environment and safety while having fun. I will never forget that you got out of your kayak to drag my 7 year old son up the rapids by hand just so he could go down (in his own kayak through the rapids).That was caring we could find no where else. From our hearts, Thanks a lot, V, L and D.
- .....you've created an amazing space for city folks to escape all the craziness. We had such a fantastic time we've decided to come back in 2 weeks! You've poured so much love and positive energy into this little paradise, as is evident in every little detail. You've been such a fantastic host, fun,easy-going, a truly loving spirit! - Thank you so much for our stay. The cabin is beautiful-- great set-up. The island is very private, the perfect get-away spot. Amazing views of the sunset, sunrise and the night skies from the watefront firepit. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the island. Great fishing! Thank you again for your hospitality and keep up the great work. We will for sure be telling our friends about this place and hope to stay again. Brandi and Elijah
- "This has been a one of a kind, extrordinary experience! We loved every part of our time here! Trudy you have really paid attention to all the details - nothing was overlooked. - First annual girls only weekend getaway has come to an end. We couldn't have picked a better spot. Lots of learning experinces about each other and many memories have been made: who knew four woman can fit in one (eco) shower, who knew 2 ladies on a kayak could make it flip, who knew sheep liked dishsoap, .....who knew N. could clear a campfire naked, who knew D could master Goats Trail.....Thanks for an amazing experience, The girls from the City!
- The Island is a paradise! We had a truly enjoyable and relaxing time. The eco -loft is PERFECT..every little detail was well thought out.. to make ones stay comfortable and such an wonderful experience. We will definitely be back and next time we'll stay much longer. TJ, thank you for your warm hospitality, your unblieveable energy and wonderful sense of humour...don't ever change - we love you! You and your family created a perfect hideaway out of Grasshopper Island. R & G
- What an amazing amount of work you and your family have done to create this paradise. Thank you for a truly relaxing get away. We'll be back for years to come. You've taken care of every last detail, from the solar shower, the amazingly clean comfortable outhouses, to the entertaining , grass, grazing sheep!! This spot provides, what we really need: peacefullness, just with ourselves, tranquility, wilderness, total rest from civilization! Tons of walking, fishing, sitting at the fire, long conversations, communication with the family. I am so glad that in this world we can still find such a place we can be totally alone with nature. - Thank you for a fantastic holiday! We knew when we met Trudy Jo....that we were in for something special.We've canoed, napped, fished, walked the trails, spotted wildlife, stargazed and roasted marshmellows by the campfire.We've admired sunrises and sunsets, lounged on the deck and the ecoloft and taken a few hot showers in the woods-- who would have guessed/ hot water in the forest..... ...it has been a wonderful time......C & D
- October 12, 2008 Trudy and Amy, Exactly what we needed! You have put Sooooo much thought into everything,that it took nothing to have a wonderful time. We will certainly be back. My girlfriend and I never take time for ourselves and we have been together for 7 years! This experience has renewed the importance of "us" time and we plan to make your offering a habit. We sit here now at sunrise staring at the water and words doesn't explain the feelings that we have. Great fires and canoeing certainly took the Hamilton city life away. Pitty that we to to return to it. I'm (Bret) on a losing streak with the fish and I hear them teasing me. Watching other fisherman pull up close to our shore and catch Big fish, validates my thoughts on this topic. I plan to return and win. Dawn and I used the solar shower! That was awesome and refreshed our minds more than anything!Well, I'm going to cut this short now, you are picking us up in a few hours and I see Dawn with her fishing rod...wish us luck., see you soon, much love ,Bret and Dawn
